Stuck in the Mud

OK. So I haven't gotten out. I will be traveling on the 25th to go up to Silverdale to see Evie so that is at least something. Right now, Elinor is on her way to Puerto Rico. She is on a Celebrity Cruise and I hope she is enjoying her classes. She is teaching on board so that is a good thing.
I watched the Oscars last night and I was right about Slumdog Millionaire. It won a bunch of awards. It was a great movie for sure. I don't know that I want to own it because I don't think I could watch it again but I am glad I saw it. I really enjoyed the Oscars last night. Hugh Jackman was very good as the host and the show was entertaining all the way with the exception of Ben Stiller. I just do not care for his humor. Anyway.........
I had a great time on Saturday. I went to my OA meeting and then went to Thomas's Flag football game. His team didn't win but he played well. Afterward, Maureen, Thomas and Sam and I went to Protland to go to the outdoor market which wasn't open so we went to the Elephant Deli and had lunch. The Elephant Deli has lots of good food and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Well.......onward and upward.

I know what I like about waterfalls. It is not just their beauty. It is that they are going somewhere. Elinor is leaving on Thursday for about three weeks and I intend on doing some driving if I can. I haven't felt like moving very much but I want to get out and go. So I am going to. There........I've said it. Now I have to do it.

I saw the movie "DOUBT" today. Meryl Streep had the lead and she was very good. I will not say it was her best role but she certainly played her part. The story takes place in the early sixties at a Catholic elementry school. Meryl plays the principal(head nun) who suspects a priest of going after a student and she goes after him. Was she right? You never really know for sure but she says she is sure. It is only at the end that she expresses that she has doubts.
So I am a little confused. If you are sure enought to go after someone, where is the doubt coming from? I will have to think about that. If anyone else has seen this movie, let me know what you think.

I Think I Just Saw The 2009 Oscar Winner

Slumdog Millionaire is an incredible movie. If you haven't seen it, do. It is about this kid from India's worst slums who gets on the TV progam WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE. He knows the answers because of his life and how he has had to live. It is absolutely wild, sad, fascinating, and moving. I made the mistake of going to see it without visiting the Ladies and I had to wait until it was over because I couldn't leave. You will not forget this movie. Forget about the rating. It is not G but I don't think it is R either.

Where We Stand

Today is Groundhog Day and the beast has said that Spring will come early this year.........Yea! As for me, my shingles seem to have gone and the Steelers managed to win the Super Bowl. The shingles were not a pleasant experience. They hurt but they never acted like chicken pox. There were no open sores. I believe that was because of the vitamin E. I was rubbing it on three times a day and taking it internally three times a day. I also took vitamin C three times a day. This seems to have helped. I got this information out of a folk remedy book since I have no doctor in my life at the moment( no regular insurance). Maureen was helpful also.
As for the Super Bowl, the Steelers gave me heart failure but they pulled it off. My hat is off to the Cardinals. They did a great job but it was not to be. The message is never give up no matter what. Good message. I hope it got thru to my brain.
